Hope we can all work together to get this site going...
Your feedback and suggestions for any part of this site or its operation would be greatly appreciated.

This is YOUR SITE.

First order of business is to find some poor soul who can maintain the Vbulletin engine. It was not very difficult to set it up and I'm pretty much illiterate when it comes to these things. I think a couple of hours a week would do for now for someone who has some experience.

And if you have any darde-del, this is a good place to start too ;)

Agha damet garm. I am all for it. I don't mind helping a couple of hours a week. By the way, I never heard back from the Admins, and I don't expect to hear back either because from my experience they don't get back to you.
In any case, let me know how I can help.

PJ beat me to it!! I guess that makes me member number 2 LOL.

I can't believe you got this thing started so quickly :) I guess some of us eye-rain-ians are not just talkers but doers.

I too will help with what I can. ;)

Its good to be among friends again....

Hello chaps, I am in :)

I too am willing to help around here from time to time. I got a message from Behrou about this site literally few minutes ago so am not quite sure what needs doing.
ISP was good while it lasted but unfortunatley the outcome of the leadership has been some annoyed members and a split community!

Well, great to be together without the fear of prosecution! ;) (man there's a serious shortage of smilies here! add that to the to-do-list guys).

Believe me Hamid jaan, I haven't done anything this "ghaateaane" for a very LONG time. So thank you for being the inspiration behind the action. I was actually really surprised too with how easy it was to set this thing up. I'm not usually one to follow step by step instructions, but I guess it pays off to do it once in a while.

I guess we eventually need to discuss some type of moderation on these forum, so let's all come up with something that's fun with serious improvements on how they do it on other sites.

Also, we could use a small membership drive right now IMHO - nothing major, just close friends and favorites (i.e. people that we won't be embaressed in front of, if there's a site crash or something ;)) until we can figure out how to work with this application properly.

Anyway guys, it's so good to have our own little virtual hang-out :)

Well, I'm up for it too. I am not experienced with running a forum tough, so I don't think I'll be that big of a help technically but I do want to help out where I can and I am ok with learning :D I have to go to sleep now tough. Hats off for setting this up tough Behrou eventough you say you are normally that good with these sort of things.

Bah alila khodemoonam ke injast!
I am sure here you won't have to have alila+, alila++, alila++++ as your ID :)

So what needs doing guys?

I don't know who else has been contacted from ISP but I think we should target some of the highest posters. I am thinking of mashdi and Kaz for starters.
Behrou jan do you want to send them invites?

Let's both do it Behrooz jaan. They'll definitely be great additions to the team as will be Sly and Brando and quite a few others. I've just been a little slow with the invitation due to time constraints. so, please don't be shy in inviting anyone and everyone from any site and every site!!! If we send double invites... 2 invites are always better than one.

The To-Do stuff is in another thread. Just pick one and go wild with it... :dancing1:

Good to have you here Shahin jaan. What is your area of expertise, we are struggling at times with IT issues ;) and I'm sure as the site grows, we're going to have some experts on board.

For now, more than anything else, your input on rules, moderation, what you like to see (i.e. To-Do-List) etc. would be great. Basically feel at home and how would you make this homeyer - that doesn't look like the right spelleing, but you know what I mean. :)

Motori and IZ yes (IZ's already registered here and waiting to make a grand entrance ;)), but I personally haven't had time to send anything to the other guys yet because of my involvement with the technical aspects of the site so far. :(

As for asking people to join us... IMO there should be no limitation whatsoever... anyone and everyone should be invited. Specially those with opposing views, otherwise we will have nothing interesting to discuss (don't anyone ask Sardar just yet). :showass5:

Well, whoever wants to come here is welcome but one thing that we hope will be different is that people don't get so easily offended when someone attacks a religion.
No religion is sacred here. As long as profanities are not used then you can express your opinion, even if it's what some people consider insult to a religion.

Actually, I think we should have a debate on this if we want to start a forum so we don't run into problems later on. I will open a thread for this.

Hi guys

First of all thanks for the invite(s). I was not very active on the old site, so I'm not sure what exactly has happened to bring about this wave of migration, though I gather the moderating team has been over-moderating? I personally have no strong feelings one way or the other, so I'm happy to hang out wherever my favourite people hang out. I'm already pleasantly surprised with the mix of the people here. Especially at the fact that Toofan is here too! (It's just that I knew him even before ISP).

To a bright future, and let us never get carried away with over regulation :drinking22:

I do hope from the bottom of my heart that we can create an atmosphere here where all perspectives are welcome and all discussion are cariried out with one rule and one rule only and that is to have respect for your fellow members.

Friends can discuss anything among them, anything - and not only they don't always have to agree on an issue, but IMHO those friends who can challenge one's way of thinking - and be able to communicate that across all barriers - should hold a special place in one's heart.

Alixman my high school American football coach gave me some great advice after I was going through a very difficult period in my life. I'm not going to go over those personal things now but he said, "Never be too high when things are going well, and never be too down when you things are going great." This is true not only in American football but in life as well. I know what you are going through and I'll shoot you a PM as well. I don't really know you at all but if my experience can help you out in your tough times I"m glad to do it.

Best of luck to you bro I"ll be cheering for you.

Hi Guys,

I'm ghahremaan on ISP. I received an invitation from Bi-Honar and I'm glad to have joined. I did not post too much on ISP, I'm more a reader than a writer. My condolence to Alixman.

Dear A.S,
Sorry for belated response, some how I missed this post.
Any how better be late than never, welcome aboard and glad to see you with us.
Hope you enjoy your stay and post often.

I certainly hope almighty did better than a mid age hairy man for you!
With all 'emkanat" at your disposal :), you should aim a bit higher aziz!

It is certainly not only a pleasure, but an honor to be chatting along side of some of the best of cyber world, agha rasoul aziz.

As rasoul and hameed know, I have not been able to spend much time in discussion boards for the last 2 years.
But just like any ISPers, got hooked to the extended family, and is hard not to feel any belonging.
I wanted to thank you all for the nice welcome, and behrou for the special tour of the site, as well as the stuff that was not necessary .
I'll probably be more of a reader than a poster. however, congratulations to the forces behind this site for a job well done.
Any split in families , while it may seem necessary and inevitable, is also acomponied by sad feeling for people who watched these families shape up and grow.
I have followed ISP 's( and ancestors!) path since 1998. So many transitions in personalities. But as an outside observer, nothing was more pleasing to see how the curious teen age kids of back then grew up to be contributing Iranian patriots of today. While not all of them turned out as
I described, but many did.

I practically knew of likes of westie,BT, behrang,... when they were teenagers.I compare who they are today, to what I envisioned them to be back then, and I'm grateful to communities like ISP that created environments to nurture our bonding, sense of unity and nationalism. And for that I'll always be greatful to forces that with sacrificing time/money/effort/pain ,conciously or unconciously, made this possible.

We have all had our differences, and we have all recognized that there may be a time that you will just have to take off. That is not to say, that friendships and bondings of the past should be forgotten.

I'm glad to see that ( at least what is visible to me) the direction that you have chosen , is not that of animosity. Yes, many of us may feel that there were issues that were not handled the best they could have been, direction, favoritism,........
But these stuff exist in any Iranian community. You have to look at it as a whole package.......................................

anyways to cut it short, the best wish that I can have for this site, is that I hope som day, you can claim that you have also impacted and contributed to the lifes of Iranians abroad , particularly the younger generation , that is going to be even more distanced from Iran than teen age generation of 90s.

For us at ISP, football was a common denominator , but gate to politics,
art, history , litreature,........ and I hope again through common interest, we can keep the interest on Iran alive and kicking................

Again , thank you for all the nice words that I was not deserving.

Aram jaan, after that post, I feel that my words didn't go nearly as far as they should have. You obviously have a more grand vision than what was, or what is here and now and I peronsally have a great deal of respect and admiration for visionaries like yourself. :chekerim:
