View Full Version : France To Recognise Ahmadinejad's Re-election Sly 07-17-2009, 02:56 AM http://www.nasdaq.com/aspx/stock-market-news-story.aspx?storyid=200907161124dowjonesdjonline000767&title=france-to-recognise-ahmadinejads-re-election---kouchner Kaesra 07-17-2009, 09:06 AM The article France To Recognise Ahmadinejad's Re-election - Kouchner PARIS (AFP)--France's foreign minister said Thursday that Paris will recognise Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's re-election as president of Iran but also build ties with the opposition movement ranged against him. Addressing lawmakers during a parliamentary question session, Bernard Kouchner said that as Ahmadinejad had been proclaimed president in Tehran it would be " useless and counterproductive" for France alone to reject this. But he also called for France to continue to support an opposition movement " with a future among the Iranian people," to "multiply our contacts with it, and continue to oppose what's going on in terms of nuclear energy." Ahmadinejad was declared the winner of Iran's June 12 election despite claims of vote rigging from supporters of his defeated rivals that generated massive street demonstrations against the regime. Mir Hossein Mousavi, who was Ahmadinejad's closest rival in the vote but who lost heavily according to surprise official results, has dismissed the incoming government as "illegitimate." France is a fierce critic of Iran's nuclear program, which Tehran insists is destined to produce civilian energy but which many in the international community fear conceals a bid to build atomic weapons. --------------- What do they mean though, they are being undecisive. Liberté, égalité, fraternité ? .... Fuck them anyway, Viva l'Iran. raminIC 07-17-2009, 09:08 AM France's foreign minister said Thursday that Paris will recognise Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's re-election as president of Iran but also build ties with the opposition movement ranged against him. in my opinion this is even a bigger slap to the face of AN than not recongnizing his presidency. Sly 07-17-2009, 09:58 AM in my opinion this is even a bigger slap to the face of AN than not recongnizing his presidency. IMO, that's being hypocrite by France. Bi-Honar 07-17-2009, 04:28 PM Well, they don't really have choice Ali joon. They're pretty much forced to recofnize him and we must pay attention to every word here. He said that France can't stand "alone", which suggests that's not really their preference, but at the same time, they can't stick out. I agree with Ramin that overall, this is a huge too-dahany to AN & Goh - I mean Co. Sly 07-17-2009, 05:19 PM Behrou joon, they had a choice... they could let go of all the money they get from Iran for their businesses and for once be on the right side. With these kind of actions from EU countries we can forget about them taking their ambassadors out. Motori 07-17-2009, 05:20 PM What does it mean "We can't be in this alone"? Among 195 nations in the world less than 25 have recognized AN. France is not alone, they just want the money through Total and other cooperation. France is only good on making lip sticks and exporting whores. keyvan_pars 07-18-2009, 02:24 PM As I predicted (and i am no political analyst), once the dust is settled things will get back to normal. $$ in oil barrels and cheap labor that is available in Iran will supersede human rights. |
