Motori 07-29-2009, 08:09 PM It has been there for over a year. 20 ton in gold rest $7.5 billion in hard cold cash.
Now an Iranian merchant (Ebrahim Safarian?) claims money is his and asking from Turkish government for return.
Don't be bored, watch to the end and look at the trucks carrying the gold and stacks of cash.

DireStraits 07-29-2009, 08:22 PM There can be no doubt that Iranian officials are moveing these money out
of Iran. Mosavi talked about some money AN should explain where they are.
But I think Some of the officials probebly khamenei or AN are behind this.

Bi-Honar 08-04-2009, 04:10 PM Iran questions $18.5B treasure transfer
From Press TV
The Central Bank of Iran has questioned the transfer of a container-load carrying $18.5 billion worth of gold and cash from Iran to Turkey through courier services. Turkey's independent Kanal D channel reported last week that an Iranian businessman, Esmael Safarian-Nasab, had moved $7.5 billion in cash and 20 metric tons of gold to Turkey in October 2008.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry said the Iran's Embassy in Ankara is holding talks with Turkish authorities to determine the truth of the incident. According to Turkey's official news agency, Anadolu, Turkish State Minister Hayati Yazici dismissed the report on Thursday.
The Iranian central bank's Deputy Governor Hassan Qazavi said on Tuesday, “Reports about the transfer of $18.5 billion of gold and cash from the country via a courier are very ambiguous.” He further dismissed media reports which have put the value of the gold at $11 billion. “The value of 20 metric tons of gold amounts to about $500 million.”
Foreign Ministry spokesman Hassan Qashqavi said the report was at this stage no more than 'a claim', saying Tehran is pursuing through both domestic and foreign channels to clarify the issue. Safarian-Nasab's lawyer, Senol Ozel, told Kanal D that the container-load of US dollars and bullion was delivered to Ankara Customs Office on October 7, 2008. Turkish customs officials, however, have denied the entry of such a container to Turkey, Anadolu said.
raminio05 08-04-2009, 09:14 PM i believe deerooz said something about the tonnage of gold not adding up. I did the calculation, and it indeed does not add up. 20 tons of gold is not enough to make up the 11 billion difference. Theres something fishy going on here.

Ramin jAn,
The number is guesstimated by the Turkish TV channel no one knows the exact amount unless Turkish Gov. steps in and blows the whistle which they won't. But the whole world knows it is in billions and had been transferred by courier company instead of normal bank transfer.

Rasoul jaan thats a pretty bad guesstimation, no? Unless of course the tonnage of the gold was much higher. 20 tons is about 600 million dollars, so 11 billion would be around 366 tons of gold. Thats an enormous difference.

I exactly know what you're saying, but as I mentioned this numbers are coming from TV reporters, it is not an official claim by Turkish authorities.

btw, i remember that presstv (or irinn) broke this news. I don't know, this whole episode seems odd to me.
Not that i don't believe that the bastards were trying to smuggle the money. No, thats not what i'm weary about. Its the intentions. I just hope that we wont see news about this being linked to Mousavi or Khatami sometime in the near future.

Ramin jan, don’t get caught up in the semantics! Whether its 5 tons, 8 tons or 20 tons makes no difference in the prinicipal……the point of the matter is that billions of $$$$$$ of Iranian money was moved illegally, no doubt by government/sepah or some other MF within I.S., lets not miss the jungle because of the tree!!!
raminio05 08-04-2009, 11:20 PM hamid jaan read my last post. i have no doubts that the money was moved illegally nor do i have doubts about who it was moved by. But its the WHY that i'm worried about.
