The crash news are getting pointless 2 helicopter crashes in less than 6 days, I think from now on we should post news about Iranian airplanes making safe landing.
This helicopter was a Bell 214 "Isfahan", also Iranian news sources say there were 3 fatalities in this accident.

TEHRAN, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- An Iranian military helicopter crashed on Sunday near the capital city of Tehran and three people on board were killed, the State IRIB TV reported.

The helicopter belonged to Iran's Army Air Force, IRIB quoted an informed source as saying.

Earlier, local Press TV reported that the helicopter, belonging to the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), crashed in Shahriar county, 45 km west of Tehran.

According to IRIB, after the incident, the public relations of IRGC announced that "this helicopter did not belong to IRGC."

"There have been no immediate details on what might have caused the crash," Shahriar county governor Mohammad-Ali Erfanmanesh was quoted as saying by Press TV.

The aircraft crash was the latest one added to the poor air safety record of Iran, which has seen a series of aviation disasters over the past month.

It came only one day after a small training aircraft crashed and burst into flames near Tehran, killing two people on board.

On Aug. 10, three people were killed and three others injured in a Bell 205 police helicopter crash in southern Iran.

Iran has recently suffered a number of flight disasters due to poor conditions of the country's civil and military aircraft.

Experts believe the U.S.-imposed sanctions against Iran, which prevented its allies from selling aircraft or aircraft parts to the country, have undermined safety standards within Iran's civil and military aviation fleet and are increasing the likelihood of more major air disasters.

What is it they need but they cann't get from Russia?
This helicopter may have been shut down. There has to be internal fight in Sepah too.
There can also be poor security check. I don't know.

Safety standards come from "Proper Management" not spare parts.
214 has been being manufactured in Iran by HESA ever since 1976, they should not have any spare parts shortages.

D.S jAn,

Aviation Technical Inspectors have moral and ethical responsibility to keep all birds which are presumed non-airworthy on the ground until proven safe.
Lets say there is an aircraft which needs a specific component to make it airworthy, clearing that plane for flight before the "Fix" is a crime.

Unsafe airplanes are not dangerous just to the occupants, they are dangerous to the whole society. Imagine a 350,000 lbs airplane with 20 metric ton of jet fuel slamming down in a school building full of kids or a hospital.

It depends on if the authorities have that kind of high morality. What if they don't care? But yes if there were rules in the country they should be persecuted.

very sad news ......

Why sad new Sahryar jaan? These are the same helicopters they're using for fly-overs and reconaissance during the demonstration to suppress our people. They're getting what they deserved.
