Kaesra 04-22-2009, 04:41 PM Lets wait and see, our last coach was oppointed out of nowhere and was fired after 2 weeks. I think it would have felt better if he was oppointed first, Iranian football is having rough times. Behrooz_C 04-22-2009, 05:30 PM Iranian football is a laughing stock! They should just close the whole thing for a while. They will burn Ghotbi at the stakes. He will regret this in time. Bi-Honar 04-22-2009, 05:41 PM I say we fire Ghotbi and bring in a bearded lady. I think she'll be most suited to work in this circus! Alixman984 04-22-2009, 05:41 PM nice a video analyser with no team got the job!! well done artavile 04-22-2009, 07:04 PM Good luck Mr. Ghotbi. I personally think its too little too late anyways. Iranian football needs to be shut down and rebulit from the ground up. :dunno: At the end, the poor guy is going to get crucified while the root cause of this disastrous situation, i.e., IFF and the "management" will remain intact. :chair: PJ 04-23-2009, 12:02 AM This article was on the top line of Yahoo sports/soccer section: http://sports.yahoo.com/sow/news;_ylt=ArAlXEVlzzenT7M1kY4Hlfomw7YF?slug=ap-iran-coachappointed&prov=ap&type=lgns Iran appoints another national soccer team coach 5 hours, 51 minutes ago * Buzz up! 0 votes * TEHRAN, Iran (AP)—Iran appointed another national soccer team coach on Wednesday, replacing the coach who lasted two weeks. Afshin Qotbi takes over a day after Mohammad Mayely-Kohan resigned after only two weeks on the job. Mayely-Kohan’s resignation followed a bitter dispute with another coach, state television reported. The 55-year-old Mayely-Kohan had replaced former Iran star Ali Daei this month after the team’s loss to Saudi Arabia in a World Cup qualifier. Qotbi coached Iranian club Piroozi last year. Iran is fourth in the five-team Group B of Asian World Cup qualifying, with six points from five games. South Korea leads the group with 11 points, one point ahead of North Korea and Saudi Arabia.
