I voted yes, but not because I like Qotbi as a coach or think he is any good. But because I would support anyone in charge of TM. I supported Daei too because at the end of the day he wanted what we wanted, success for TM.

Qotbi is not qualified to coach any team in my view but it's not his fault he got this job so I wish him all the best. This just shows up the sorry mess that is Iranian football.

The saddest part is that Qotbi is a very likable and decent person and I feel sorry when I think of what fate is awaiting him. He will end up losing his head and paying for the mess that is IFF.

No matter who is/was the coach of TM will always have my support. Even if we don't like them becuse IMO, frankly they are not even qualified to coach my Sunday morning games with bunch of 40+ year olds (e.g., MK, GN, AD and other retarded so-called coaches).

Having said, while I wish TM and Ghotbi best of luck, but I think we all know they truly have mission impossible ahead of them. As for IFF and rest of the useless leaches....F them.

I think it is sad that he has to lead to team at this state, and I dont think we can judge him if he doesnt Quilify us and I would have liked it more if he would have been given a decent chance. Having said that I love my TM and I will support it eventhough I might get hurt at times.

I posted a similar one at IK when Kohan was named a coach....and many people said NO.....just because they hated Kohan....which is wrong.
we always mix things....no matter how someone might feel about IRI, they carry the name IRAN and their team will REPRESENT IRAN....I had a guy saying no way because I hate akhoonds...looool

as for the last option....believe it or not....that's what I got in some places. they said...I hate kafashieyan...I hate IF....so,...f...team melli and its coach..

IMHO, if Qotbi use his knowledge correctly
do not let people force him to chose players
and just use his own experience....he will do well....very well.
As a coach, you learn a lot from your HEAD COACH.....let's not forget, he worked with GUS HIDDING, whom has done so well in every team he had coached....remember S.Korea, when he was coach or Eindhoven, or Russia and just look at Chelse under his power....
so, if Qotbi has learned just a few things from him....he will be fine...

damet garm dashali jan for keeping the positive vibe alive. Among the candidates, he was the best one and he's much more likeable with positive energy than others.

This is football, so we never have to be pessimistic, despite all the problems, let's support TM and Qotbi. But if we make it to WC, we have to change dramatically, from bottom to top, in order not become a laughing stock in South Africa.

Yeah totally agree. I think no Iranian is currently fit to take TM to the world cup. I'm behind Ghotbi to get us there but I hope we take the world cup seriously and hire someone with some real track record.

I know that most people go back to Qotbi's assistant jobs and so on, but any assistant will become the head coach at one point.
let's see...Qotbi's assistantship with what coaches and some of our own coaches??? I do not like Amir GN at all, however, you can see his records are not bad...and I don't think he was assistant for more than 1 year... kohan, same thing....Estilli, whom wanted to be the head coach in PP after 2 failing assistant jobs ;)
now, Qotbi....he was assistant coach in 94 Wc, 98Wc, 2002 Wc and 2006 Wc, but there are still people giving him a hard time about his experience...

I'd say, let see how he does in the next 3 games, and if we make it to South Africa, why not....stay with him. If not worst but better than Jalal Talebi, Branko.... let's just keep him and give him the chance...

when Kohan was named the coach, I posted similar thread on IK and you can go and see....many people were happy for Iran to lose and not making it just because they did not like KOHAN.

As you see there, many people did not support him because they did not like him....same argument will be here, some might not support Qotbi, because they might hate him or think he is not ready for this job...
