Hahaha I see your point. Well Michael Jackson likes little boys and he moved to Bahrain and General Persian likes little girls, so I guess it would be a perfect fit. lol

Jarno Trulli takes pole for the first time since 2005. Also a great result for Toyota with both drivers on the front row of the grid. Whether they can do it on race day is another matter but it's becoming a great season with so many teams being competetive.
Top 10:

1 Trulli (lap 13)
2 Vettel (lap 17)
3 Button (lap 15)
4 Glock (lap 11)
5 Hamilton (lap 15)
6 Barrichello (lap 13)
7 Massa (lap 20)
8 Rosberg (lap 21)
9 Alonso (lap 14)
10 Raikkonen (lap 22)

Behrouz jAn,
I don't no after which session that standing is coming from (Q2 may be?)
But here is the top 10 standing in the grid for tomorrow:

Pos No Driver Team Q1
1 9 Jarno Trulli Toyota 1:32.779
2 10 Timo Glock Toyota 1:33.165
3 15 Sebastian Vettel RBR-Renault 1:32.680
4 22 Jenson Button Brawn-Mercedes 1:32.978
5 1 Lewis Hamilton McLaren-Mercedes 1:32.851
6 23 Rubens Barrichello Brawn-Mercedes 1:33.116
7 7 Fernando Alonso Renault 1:33.627
8 3 Felipe Massa Ferrari 1:33.297
9 16 Nico Rosberg Williams-Toyota 1:33.672
10 4 Kimi Räikkönen Ferrari

After disastrous 3 starts finally both Ferrari made it to Q1 and with their fuel load I think they will be up front (P. 2, 3, 4) after the front runners dive into the pit after lap 15.
Congratulations to Team Toyota for clinching the positions 1 and 2 on the grid. I guess all that money poor Toyota has been pouring into the Team is finally paying off. Best of luck to them.

Still I believe the rising star of 2009 season is Vettel that kid has got plenty of enthusiasm and exuberance, he has been always among the front runners so far with a spectacular win in Shanghai.
But if you go back and check the results of the season so far all 3 winners have started from pole position, so we might see Jarno being crowned again for the second time in his career.
I feel sorry for Mark Weber, he is a very good and experienced driver with the Team Red Bull to back him up, but infamous bad luck strikes him again and he has to go back and start from 19th.
I was surprised to see Sauber BMW starting from so far back but bear in mind they both are the heaviest cars with fuel load, so probably their strategy is " Win the race from the Pits". We'll see.

Formula 1 Grand Prix of Bahrain will start at 08:00 AM USET (-4 GMT)

Rasoul khan you are right. Your standings are correct, not mine. I picked it off teh BBC site even though I watched the qualifying and knew Button wasn't 3rd!

Anyhow, what e don't know is how much fuel the Toyotas were carrying in qualifying. The Brawns struggled for speed today but that could be due to heavier load.

Behrooz jan, both Brawn and Toyota, must collect as much points as possible, bc when they arrive in europe, then you must see some dramatic changes by, Ferrari, BMW and Mc Laren. Then I'm not so sure if B&B dominans with continue as so far.

Motori jan, Vettel is the man. I know he will be the upcoming Schummy. you can tell by his teammates position at grid that regurdless car & team Vettel is one big young NUTTCASE. its only matter of time before Scuderia Ferrari gets him.

Behrouz jAn,

Here is list of final weights in grid for tomorrow:

1. Jarno Trulli, Toyota, 648.5 kg
2. Timo Glock, Toyota, 643
3. Sebastian Vettel, Red Bull, 659
4. Jenson Button, Brawn GP, 652.5
5. Lewis Hamilton, McLaren, 652.5
6. Rubens Barrichello, Brawn GP, 649
7. Fernando Alonso, Renault, 650.5
8. Felipe Massa, Ferrari, 664.5
9. Nico Rosberg, Williams, 670.5
10. Kimi Raikkonen, Ferrari, 671.5
11. Heikki Kovalainen, McLaren, 678.5
12. Kazuki Nakajima, Williams, 680.9
13. Robert Kubica, BMW Sauber, 698.6
14. Nick Heidfeld, BMW Sauber, 696.3
15. Nelson Piquet, Renault, 677.6
16. Sebastien Buemi, Toro Rosso, 678.5
17. Giancarlo Fisichella, Force India, 652
18. Mark Webber, Red Bull, 656
19. Adrian Sutil, Force India, 679
20. Sebastien Bourdais, Toro Rosso, 667.5

Toyotas are lightest with Sauber BMW the heaviest.
Interesting point is Vettel being 11 kg lighter than Jarno and full 16 kg than Timo that is 5 laps more than Jarno about 7 more comparing to Glock, and if that kid over takes both going through turn 1 he'll be gone for rest of the race. I don't think he is loosing any sleep over Glock he is looking little farther down the race track where Jarno is sitting.

Marlon jAn,
It has always been that way, during races Australia and far east front runner teams would get to know where the jinks are residing in the car and they would take immediate action by what they have and what they can fly in next day (i.e McLaren's double Decker diffuser) and rest will be evaluated and postponed for Monaco. There will be about month time frame in between, it seems short but enough for some of these high $ teams to design, build, test and fly a spacecraft.
Look at the disastrous first 3 starts for Ferrari, so far away from home with limited resources they still managed to rise to top 10 by 4th race, also check out their fuel load for Bahrain I think they are brewing something.

I disagree with you about Weber, he is a very talented, experienced and well capable of driving a good car if handed him to all the way up there on the Podium, his 19th position is because of technical problems which happens too often, so many times just he was close to accomplish some thing the following gremlins will show their ugly face and give him a DNF instead. I swear some time I think the guy is jinked.
He is also a gentleman off the track, he was the Founder/Organizer/CEO of the "Grand Prix Drivers Association" countering F1 politics detrimental to drivers, looking after safety, and their total well being to which arrogant Kimi is the only non-signatory.

Enjoy the race tomorrow.

LOOOOOOOL. Motori jan I'm not being harsh on weber. True he is good and unlucky. actually I guess some driver blocked his way at qualification yesterday and I know how much he is in charge of all safteymatters. You could tell by the unfinishied rainy race.
Now my case is not about Weber being bad. Its about Vettel being extraordinary GOOD.
We must agree that they both got almost "identical" cars. What Weber achives with that car, is regular, but put Vettel in a Citroen Jian, and he will still get something out of it ;)

As I said...

"Webber blames Force India"

Sutil caught napping in Bahrain qualifying

After receiving a personal apology from Adrian Sutil on Saturday, Mark Webber absolved the German racer of blame for a blocking incident during Bahrain qualifying,
even if the stewards of the meeting did not.

Sutil was docked three places on the grid for impeding Red Bull's Australian driver the first round of qualifying; an incident that left Webber stranded just 18th.

The Force India driver argued he didn't know Webber was on a flying lap, and the 32-year-old agreed it was the team's responsibility to convey that information to Sutil.

"The team did a poor job for him because I'd been coming for 40 seconds," Webber said in Bahrain.

"He was snookered by his team."

Either way, running on the racing line whist on an out lap with a Red Bull Renault bearing down on you, should have - perhaps - sent a message to the Force India driver..

Akhar e kAr zahreto mirizi AghA Marlon, ha??

See if you can review the race aging Weber started from 19th and at the end of second lap he was 13th, so if he hadn't lost that 3 position he could be in top 10 by then.
It was a good race though, I really enjoyed it. Did you notice Kimi passy Lewis? Man! he went by him like he was standing still.

Poor Alonso! apparently his drinking water pump wasn't working and he really looked dehydrated and in a real bad shape, team had grab under his both arms and carry him away.

Wow look at Alonso, seems like he just lost 10 kilos! The picture reminds me of a famous one of Nigel Mansell in 91 I think it was. After a hard race battling with Prost he came out of the car a dead body and was held up by 3 people to make sure he doesn't collapse. I laugh when people underestimate the physical demands that F1 puts on drivers.

But yesterday the driver of the day was definitely Button. He showed his mettle and that his current position is no fluke. He is finally getting the car that his talents deserve.

The season is only going to get better and better as more teams will introduce their new cars in Europe.

Marlon,
That shows how resilient of driver he is, he probably lost 3 kilos of body fluid and still managed to clinch the last point.
For 2010 I really want to see Ferrari, Alonso and Vettel team. Alonso is not happy with Renault and if the team fails to bounce back by mid European races he might leave the team.

Even during the bad days of Honda I never wrote off Button as an excellent driver, he has always showed up talent and extreme capability to drive an F1 car.
He truly deserves what he has gained so far, as a result may be it is time for Brits to change their mind about Hamilton being the poster boy...:D

True, although much depends on what state Ferrari are in themselves. Alonso should never have left MacLaren but his attitude left little option. If you ask me he should stick with Renault now.

Jenson had his share of being the poster boy a few years ago. He was young and good looking and girls loved him. But his popularity waned off as he failed to deliver on the track and then LH came along. This is a true revival for him. I hope he can go all the way. Apart from everything it proves what a genius Ross Brawn is. It proves that Ferrari owes so much of their recent success to him, well and to Schumy too but mainly Ross Brawn.

Even if Ferrari fails to manage reaching the climax they've enjoyed for so long Alonso's presence will be good addition to team. He is a good communicator well capable bringing feedback to engineers derived from the races and tests, something Shummy was really good at which Kimi and Massa not so good at it.

I don't see any reason why Button not going all the way. He has Ross on board and the team is going to get better and better.
Ha Ha..Poor Rubens, even though he is a very talented driver but still incapable of elevating his status out of being a "Second Driver", back then was Shummy and now Jenson, I think he will retire carrying that dreading title.

Behrooz_C
04-29-2009, 08:11 AM
Rasoul jan, you bring up a good point. I have always liked Rubens. To me he was never world champion material but he was a better than average driver. He did his best in the Ferrari but really, was never good enough to do better. Even the journeyman Eddie Irvine did better in the Ferrari than Rubens!

I remember when he played second fiddle to Schumey he was asked to give up P1 so that Schumy could win the race. It happed a couple of times and he felt realy gutted. On one occasion he could hardly disguise his tears as he felt an injustice had been done. I fear that the same situation will arise again this season. There WILL BE occasions when Rubens is leading but will have to sacrifice it for Jensen to win the championship. I hope I am wrong.

Although no team orders are allowed, Ross Brawn has more cunning tricks up his sleeve ;)
