As far as the clip, I think you guys are being a little too harsh. It's quite likely that IR is backing off at least in some aspects and even if it is to create the illusion that they're trying. Don't forget that it was these televised debates that caused the problems in the first place. Promoting them,, could be the work of more moderate conservative elements who still think that debate is the only way out of this.
