Kaesra 04-28-2009, 08:49 PM Essien sets up a shot for lampard, shot wide.
KC McElroy 04-28-2009, 08:57 PM I hope Barca wins. I'm almost sure they will.
Kaesra 04-28-2009, 08:59 PM -Messi-Boswingah challenge, messi gets a free kick. Bad free kick.
-Nice trough pass messi, alves cross, alex defends
-Eto'o shot wide.
-Messi one-two, shot high.
-Iniesta shot way wide.
-Alex yellow card.
-Xavi shot wide.
-Ballack yellow.
-Henry shot save cech.
-Yaya gets a yellow, for asking for a yellow.
-Drogba super chance, damn bastard should have scored. Valdez saves.
-Drogba nice action but slips.
-Iniesta shot in cech's hands.
-Half time.
-Barca way better but only 3 shots on target against the 1 on target of Chelsea.
It's clear who is the better footballing team, but I dont think its smart for Chelsea to try to be better in playing beautiful football, keep a good defence and score one, easier said than done :D
-Malouda gets a free kick, for alves foul.
-Drog free-kick, ballack header over.
Kaesra 04-28-2009, 09:10 PM Henry shakes of alex, Alex gets back, corner barca, cech punches out.
Kaesra 04-28-2009, 09:50 PM Henry down after collision with the ----TANK----
Kaesra 04-28-2009, 10:57 PM Sorry I didnt report the second half. Marquez got injured and Puyol is suspended the next game
Game ended 0-0.
Barca way better, but Chelsea defended really well.
Hiddink got what he came for. I don't think he'll employ the same tactics at Stamford Bridge though.
raminio05 04-29-2009, 02:17 AM very very unexpected result. kudos to chelsea for holding barca goal less, but i don't think that there is a team out there that could do that for two games in a row.
Behrooz_C 04-29-2009, 08:16 AM I am glad I didn't stay home for this. From what I hear Chelsea defended resolutely.
It will be different in the 2nd leg as Chelsea need to score which means Barca can exploit.
Behrooz_C 04-29-2009, 09:05 PM John O'shea just loves Arsenal :)
1-0
raminio05 04-29-2009, 11:36 PM were still in pretty good shape going into Emirites.
Behrooz_C 04-30-2009, 08:23 AM Yes, I fear 1-0 may not be enough. I think Wenger was the happier man at the end.
But it will be very interesting on Tuesday.
raminio05 04-30-2009, 11:17 AM the fact that you guys shut us out really screws us though. now we either have to win by two goals, or beat you one zero and go on to extra time and penalty.
I just realized that arsenal were playing with 2 DM's in that game, something that we almost never do. Its an odd formation for us because it leaves 2 of our five mids very deep and fabregas doesn't have the defensive abilities to singlehandedly handle all that space in front of the DM's. I think that it was a bad decision by Wenger.
