Barcelona was all about Ronaldinho back for 3-4 years ago. Now, they are all about Messi.

I can't believe Real Madrid couldn't learn from Chelsea to neutralize him today! What an embarrassment for Real Madrid! All of their staff will probably be fired tonight.

BTW let me don't take away anything from Barca. What a game they played! Messi will surely win the FIFA player of the year award the next time.

Well their entire team has been on a role, yes Messi is their best player but I dont see anything wrong with it. Xavi, Iniesta, Henry, Eto'o these guys aren't chicken shit either.

Anyway I think they hurt madrid really bad especially mentally bc they were in good form and then realised they arent that good. Must be hard being a Madrid fan this season.

Sly jan Barca was never all about Ronaldinho back then, and its not all about Messi now. Its a team. one team one unit. one for all and all for one.

I don't think Real could learn anytthing form Chelsea either.
Here are statistics of the chelsea match.

ball position: Barca 73 - 27 Chelsea
Shot on target: Barca 21 - 3 Chelsea

Chelsea scaped from the hell, due to pure luck, and yes Real did a bad job on def.
They played for the offside. For example some lazy ass canavaro could never match Henrys speed.

IMO, iniesta deserves player of the year as much as messi.

:chekerim:

btw. Look at the table. Barca just round 100 goals for this season, only 7 goals away to break Real Madrids all time goal record for a single season ;)
With 4 more games to go, I hope we acheave that. Amen

Chelsea got what they came for and lucked out with bojan's chance, the rest was either good defending or good keeping, the biggest chances were bojan. (Barca also deserved a penalty if I'm not mistaken)

And btw Brando your stats are way wrong those are the total amount of shots

Shots on TARGET
Barca 6 chelsea 1

Ball possesion is exagerated also, still in favor of barca though

Barca 65% - 35% Chelsea

Don't mean Barca aint scary though, but we aint weak at home either and we have Guus.

Anyway see you after the game, we'll see what happens.

Yeh, true, but you guys can't play 11 men in your penulty box in Stamford Bridge as you did in Neu camp. right?

In order to score, az loneye moosh bayd biyaid birron ya na?
Then you shall see, bc Barca + space for Henry, Alvez, Messi, Eto'o = :hanged2:

See you after the game punk!!:shooting_389:

Mohammadreza jan, Chelsea just sit back and defended. Hence Barca's ball posession and number of attacks. But they neutralize barca perfectly. Hiddink knew exactly what to do to get the result they were after.

Next time though, they will have to attack at their home and there will be more free space for Barca to run. That's why I'm predicting it to be a great game. In anyways, Chelsea's defense wont be as disasterous as Madrid's yesterday.

Chelsea won't be able to just defend next time. They have to score and that leaves Barca lots of space.

The Real match was just embarrassing for them.

In theory we don't have to score Behrooz. A 0-0 would still give us plenty of chance to go trough.

Having said that they wont only defend, they can't and I doubt it working a second time anyway. Barca is in a way better position from their home 0-0. I think they have the advantage but I dont think it a lost cause though. We can beat any team, but doesnt mean we will beat any team and Barca aint just any team neither. We'll see.

Kasra jan, I think Barca will have a better chance of scoring next time because Chelsea will have to attack. But getting a 0-0 result at home, is far fom having an advantage. If there is any team in a better position after that 0-0 result, it's Chelsea.

Kaesra
05-03-2009, 10:16 AM
Well the thing is Chelsea didnt want anything more out of it and I am happy about the 0-0 ,but if barca scores now, chelsea will have to score two etc etc. Any tie other than 0-0 benifits barca. Chelsea have to win or play 0-0. For Barca a tie will do and thats the advantage I am talking about.

And again chelsea doesnt HAVE to attack, a 0-0 will be fine, they wont setlle with the 0-0 but 0-0 will make it penalties.

Btw I am kinda trying to get in the underdog position anyway, Guus loves it. :D

Actually, on reflection, Barca's thrashing of Real last night was a justification of Hiddink and Chelsea's approach to the match in the Nou Camp. If they hadn't "parked the bus" in fron of the goal they'd have had the same fate as Real did last night and Bayern and so many others before them.

What you say is quite interesting. Yes, Barca is definitely only about their star player. Before Ronaldinho, they were all about Rivaldo. That's why I will never respect them. All these guys like Xavi, Iniesta and Dani Alves are quite overrated in my opinion. To prove it, Ronaldinho has been succesful everywhere he has been, while Xavi and Iniesta have won nothing in their life except on the back of Ronaldinho.
Madrid game was all about Messi. He even assisted 4 goals, scored 2 and even defended like hell. But you know what, call me crazy, but I still think Robinho is much better. He is a much more elegant player.

hmmm..so you say. and who is it that you say you never respect? Barcelona's star players or the club itself?

Ps. When Rivaldo played in Barcelona, they had a lot of world class players. Not the least Figo whom together with Rivaldo of that time, were one head and shoulder above all Barcelona players of today, quality-wise.

"Alejandro", I don't know why you let it get to you, what would it even matter if you guys were all about messi ? Anyway I don't agree with what Sly says, yes you wouldn't be as good without messi, but same goes for Iniesta and Xavi, maybe even more bc these two guys have played with each other for a while now and should know each other trough and through. Iniesta was really dangerous against Chelsea with his short turns, ballack and lampard were just too big and sluggish to keep up. Henry has been in great form, Yaya and Pique are brilliant to have also. Overall just a brilliant team, a lot of credit to Pepe. Are you as confident as every Barca fan is for the Chelsea game? Must be great to have your team shine like this and seeing Madrid get raped again after pool already had ripped them a new one :D Do you think Pep will get fired anytime soon :D

I don't respect Barcelona the club and I also don't respect their players.

You are right, when Rivaldo played there, they were full of world class players like Boudewijn Zenden, Winston Bogarde, Michael Reiziger, Abelardo, De Boer brothers, Litmanen, Kluivert etc.
The current team with Dani Alves, Marquez, Puyol, Pique, Xavi, Iniesta, Henry, Toure and Eto'o can't really compare with that team. None of their defenders as an example has Bogarde's quality.

Who are we? I hate Barcelona. I support Atletico Madrid and Atletico Nacional of Medellin, the team of my good friend Escobar. No, I say it, this Barcelona team is overrated, just like the previous team that won it. They were a one-man team on the back of Ronaldinho first and then Messi. Just look at Ronaldinho's achievements at PSG and Milan and you know the deal.
Chelsea will walk over them. I say 3-0 Chelsea because they are a team of world-class players like Alex, Terry, Malouda and Kalou and the greatest coach in universe Hiddink. Barcelona is way overrated.

Ofcourse "Alejandro", I must have mistake you with someone else, maybe you know him maskulin guy, lives in the same city as you, Loves Ronaldinho though I have heard him say it many times, but dislikes cruijf for some reason says he's always wrong of something like that.

Anyway we'll see after the game, I love my team but I'm not blinded by it (all the time). You guys have a brilliant team and its goin to be a tough game, remember you didnt win Lyon and Bayern away either.

Yes, thanks. It was a nerve wrecking couple of matches. The CSKA match could have been a lot more comfortable than it turned out in the end but I was celebrating last night :)

Barcelona had a good team too. Is this the Barca team or another club from Barcelona?

Josh Childers (sp!) and Papaloukas were supposed to turn Oly into Europe's top team but all they did was take them to Final4 and 2 defeats.

No, it's our basketball team. Just like Pana and Oly, Barca and Madrid have also a basketball section. We were really good some years ago under Pesic but eversince he left, we are struggling but we're building a decent team again.
Against CSKA it was a real pity. We were leading for 3 of 4 quarters but still lost. Anyway, there's always next year.

Yes that's what I meant, it's the same Barca club. I remember some of the Barca players of the past and we also share a few players who have played for both: Ikonomou, and of course the one and only Dejan Bodiroga!

This was PAO's fifth European Cup. Only Real and CSKA have won more now.

Yes, Bodiroga and also Jaskivecius. Good thing for PAO. Me and my mates all like PAO much more than Oly for various reasons, but the big problem is that Gate 13 has apparently some ties with Ultras Sur of Real Madrid.

The 2002/2003 team we had was by far our best ever. It was really full of European basketball legends. Bodiroga, Jaskivecius, Navarro, Fucka, Duenas etc.

Yeah, Gate13 have ties with many groups but they also fight the same groups when they see fit. I wouldn't put too much weight behind what they do. They are of course the biggest and oldest organised supporters group but there are others.
I learnt years ago not to belong to any of them because what they are mostly interested in is causing trouble.
