I think Brando's continuous prayers has paid off. WOW!! 15 kilo lighter than F60, but I still think Ferrari needs 2 Ferrari drivers like Alonso and Vettel. Kimi and Massa "The pucky face" are good F1 drivers not Ferrari.

Ferrari's heavily revised F60 Formula One car made its track debut on Friday.

The single seater, up to 15 kilograms lighter than the original 2009 version according to Italian reports, is being tested in a straight line by the Spaniard Marc Gene.

The saved weight, in all areas including the material used for the seat belts, will benefit Ferrari's use of KERS, culminating in what Ferrari
hopes is a lap-time advantage of several tenths.

It is also believed that the car, being called the F60B in the press, features a double-decker diffuser.

The aerodynamic test at Vairano, Italy, will be completed on Saturday.

With all the changes every team has done in the past 2 weeks Circuit De Catalonia of Barcelona will be just another season starter.

A great qualifying session saw Jensen Button take pole position again. Barichello looked very strong but once again proved not as fast as his team mate. Vettel 2nd and Ribesn 3rd.

And, what a mess up by Kimi not putting in an extra lap!!! He is 16th.

The grid for tomorrow:

Jenson Button -- Brawn-Mercedes
Sebastian Vettel -- RBR-Renault
Rubens Barrichello -- Brawn-Mercedes
Felipe Massa -- Ferrari
Mark Webber -- RBR-Renault
Timo Glock -- Toyota
Jarno Trulli -- Toyota
Fernando Alonso -- Renault
Nico Rosberg -- Williams-Toyota
Robert Kubica -- BMW Sauber
Kazuki Nakajima -- Williams-Toyota
Nelsinho Piquet -- Renault
Nick Heidfeld -- BMW Sauber
Lewis Hamilton -- McLaren-Mercedes
Sebastien Buemi -- STR-Ferrari
Kimi Räikkönen -- Ferrari
Sebastien Bourdais -- STR-Ferrari
Heikki Kovalainen -- McLaren-Mercedes
Adrian Sutil -- Force India-Mercedes
Giancarlo Fisichella -- Force India-Mercedes

Here is my prediction of tomorrow.

1- Button with over 20 sec
2- Vettel
3- Massa (due to pitty from Rubens to his 0 point countryman)
4- Rubens

but I still think Ferrari needs 2 Ferrari drivers like Alonso and Vettel. Kimi and Massa "The pucky face" are good F1 drivers not Ferrari.

I actually think Rubens has a good chance tomorrow. I'd have him as favourite if it weren't for Button taking pole spot. The Brawns have very good pace on this track.

My prediction is a Brawn 1 and 2. I also think Alonso will take 3rd.

Well in the end Button took the race again and Rubens finished 2nd.
I am disappointed for Rubens who started the better of the two and lead the race. But a pit strategy put Button ahead.
I have a feeling that this was premeditated and although team orders are no longer part of F1 (supposedly) this is a clear indication that it has moved to other areas of the race. It's no longer blatantly obvious. I don't like it!

Behrous jAn,
I have no facts to back up what I'm going to say but still deep down I believe Rubens was victim of "Team Order".
FIA rules have been changed and drivers champion will be the one with most wins even if he is behind in points, so no way RB would let second driver with no win to take over.
For me the driver of the Barcelona was Weber, he demonstrated an outstanding driving skills.

Marlon jAn,
I think prediction for 2009 will be lot easier than before because so far every winner has clinched the race starting from the pole.:D
But I don't think this formula could apply for Monaco, historically Mcs have always been strong in that track so was Ferrari. Lets see what they are cooking for the next race.
Gear Box failure in Ferrari??...dang it where is all that money going?

I'm sure there will be no seat made to fit Kimi for 2010, he might even get the boot mid season.
Massa nad kimi are well capable of driving an F1 car but it seems that the chemistry between them and the whole team is not made of proper substance. Every thing they have done so far regarding every aspect of F1 racing had disastrous outcome. Time to change.

Rasoul jan, the proposal by which the driver with the most wins becomes champion was suspended a couple of weeks before the season start. It's been suspended to next year because many teams complained. It may even be suspended indefinitely. I think it will be ridiculous to introduce such a rule in F1.

I read an interview with Ross Brawn today where he justified the decision to switch Jensen to 2 pit stops and Rubens to 3. But it's bullshit and I strongly suspect it was their plan to help Jensen. Ross Brawn did exactly the same thing when he was at Ferrari where he made a swap in the pits and the victim then too was poor Rubens.

Behrouz jAn,
FIA official website indicates other wise. It says the rule is applicable for 2009 season as well.

Driver with most race wins to become 2009 champion

Formula One racing’s governing body, the FIA, has approved a change to the points systems for this year’s drivers’ championship, which will see the title awarded to the driver with the most race wins. The rest of the standings, from second to last place, will be decided by the current points system.

If two or more drivers finish the season with the same number of wins, the title will be awarded to the driver with the most points, the allocation of points being based on the existing 10, 8, 6 etc. structure. The constructors’ championship is unaffected.

The FIA’s World Motor Sport Council accepted the proposal for the new system from Formula One Management at a meeting in Paris on Tuesday. An alternative proposal to change the points awarded to drivers finishing in first, second and third place to 12, 9 and 7 points respectively was rejected.

Further changes agreed by the Council included minor tweaks to the testing regulations, increased media duties for teams and drivers at races, and a cost capping option for 2010 (see separate story). Honda’s request to have their entry changed to the Brawn GP Formula One Team was also approved.
