The heavyweight team bagged five gold medals and two bronze in the event which was held from May 2 to 7 in Pattaya, Thailand.
Iran was crowned as the Asian champion for the 19th times.

Iranian wrestler Ehsan Lashgari (in blue)</center> Mehdi Taghavi in 66kg class, Sadegh Gudarzi in 74kg, Ehsan Lashgari in 84kg, Saeid Ebrahimi in 96kg and Fardin Masoumi in 120kg claimed gold, while Hossein Rahimi and Masoud Esmaeilpour in 55kg and 60 kg seized the bronze.
Iran claimed the title of the 2009 Asian Greco-Roman Championship prior to this on Sunday as well. The team won four gold medals and one bronze in that event.
