Thanks to Kasra, I see a lot of posts about our success in wrestling, Taekwondo, Basketball, volleyball, add to that futsal and Weightlifting and I guess it's fair to say we are actually a force in all those sports in Asia.

Only if our football could be in the same level..... :(

Anyways congratulations to all Iranians, not the least to the site of Iranian Corner and its members. ;)

The thing is its even more of an achievement of the athletes bc of lacking management and good structure within most of the sports, even those where we do perform well. We have the populace and our people have the talent though and with football there is no difference, but especially with football, management is crucial and we severely lack in that departement. I think in a free Iran everything including sports would flourish, people would regain their pride, and we would look forward to being a force in the world and not just asia.

Well, also we should not forget that there is much more money and interest in football and that in it self brings a lot of greedy wolves around and unfortunately in our country, that's how things work rather than anything else.
