For many fans the world cup only begins when Brazil plays its first match and that's later tonight.

I am going to predict 5-0 here.

Tricky game. I am predicting 1-0 to the Ivories.

I predicted a draw, both sides as good as one would expect, IC better on paper than in reality and portugal doesnt look that strong. I do want to see the first match to see where the sides are at, how free Drogba can play with his injury also plays a big part, the arms are way more important for football than one would think, balance, physical and aerial strenght will be hurt, dont know how freely he can play.

Portugal aren't as good since Quieroz took over. I just don't think he is a good enough coach. They have plenty of talent but they didn't have a very easy qualifying, plus Nani is out.
IC are very talented too and since I got them in my work sweepstake I am going to go for them :)

I don't know man, Dunga seems to be pretty scare of the N. Koreans for some reason. He's taking a lot of heat at the moment and had a few of the latest training sessions closed to the media. People back in Brazil are absolutely furious and Socrates has said there's a possibility Brazil won't even make it out of the group stage iif Dunga keeps this up!!! This clash with the media can't be good for the team morale and Dunga's way too defencive minded for this WC by the looks of it. He still hasn't announced the starting line-up for the game btw!!!

Kaesra

Queroz is a good assistent, not a good headcoach IMO. Drogba doesnt start the game.

Similair thing was going on for the 94' World cup, where everyone wanted Ronaldo to play, the brazilians havent had the creative brazilian style or system for about 20 years or so, they have creative players but alot of their game is based on set pieces and countering. The old brazilian game is more a thing of the past but people still link it with the current brazil team. People and mostly the brazilians want it to be flashy and samba but its a good team and result orientated wich is fine, Dunga isnt being influenced by outer pressure and the media dont like that, its been like this for a while bc of his selection, leaving out those who the media would have like to see, and his result orientated team. 5-0 seems a bit too high and I highly doubt it, but brazil will win, n.korea aint that easy and they wont go for the goal bt the packd defence, the Ausies actually thought they stood a chance playing football, N.Korea wont go there to play football, but to prevent the others from doing so.

Rofl WTF does CryBaby think he's doing looking for a fight with Demel, this is someone with actual brute strenght unlike CB's artificial torso he is so gay on.

Hate the Portuguese, fucked up characters, atleast in football.

What a moron! The last corner of the match with time running out, all your players waiting in the Portugese area, what does he do? He squares it! The ref blew final whistle!!!

Kaesra
06-15-2010, 05:07 PM
Thanks that was unbelievably stupid, he would have even whistled if the corner was defended and portuguese went on a break, basicly a free chance.

The tie puts me on second place for now Bardya infront of me, IC boys helping the IC boys on 1 and 2 :)

Ivory Coast have gained lots of descipline compared to 4 years ago. They have mega stars everywhere but as we saw in the last seconds, lack of brains is still a problem. I am sure Sven will point that out to them.

IC boys helping the IC boys on 1 and 2 :)

LOL. IC all the way! :)

That was a really stupid move at the end. I was very impressed with IC, particularly Gervinho - what a player. I'm sure we'll see him alongside Drogba in the next game as opposed to a sub for him. IC defence was absolutely solid and completely shot Ronaldo down. Portugal... I wasn't too impressed at all.

Yeah, I think 3-0 is even pushing it at this point. We may see a 2-0 most likely, although I can't stand the N. Koreans even more than I can't stand the Samba Kongs! ;)

I managed to catch the last 10 minutes on the screen we have been allowed to set up in the staff room. I don't want to spend too much time in there.

I support England, I always do. That's why I am always left disappointed and frustrated. I am a realist however and I don't think they are good enough to make it beyond the last 8. If they do great, but if not then that's nothing unexpected. England have to get better results than USA against Algeria and Slovenia otherwise it's Germany in the next round.

Well, that was a pretty pathetic performance for Brazil against one of the weakest teams in the tournament who had lost to Mexico, Paraguay, Nigeria and even Venezuela and tied Greece recently. Lucio was an absolute disaster back there - way to slow now to face the IC boys and Ronaldo. They need to bring in Luisao to repleace him for the next match or they've got a big surprise coming. Fabiano was also completely useless and hasn't scored an international goal for almost a year!

PJ
06-15-2010, 10:23 PM
I actually liked that goal by N. Korea. It gave me an extra point and took away couple of points from people who predicted 2-0. I have 20 points now, which is a bit more respectable. Of course no match for our own mooshe khis. :D

Behrooz_C

NK had to play super defensive but even so Brazil should have broken them down earlier.

I was delighted for NK getting that goal and Se Yong is a lively player. I think he plays in the Japanese league.

Brazilian media are going to love this because Dunga is already their number 1 enemy. They are going to hand him his ass.

Brazil has probably got the best defence in the world when it comes to individual player. But they don't have the needed chemistry between them. That makes them very bad in defence.

Kaesra

Missed most of the second half, the ref lost control in the end of the game and the 3 min extra was rediculous since it should have been atleast 5 bc all the time stoppage especially with the injury and the "fights" in the end. The 2-0 was a hand ball, strange thing is the ref even pointed that out against Luis Fabiano. The tournaments officiating started decent to good but recent games havent been that good, fuckd the game up cause that is a decisive point in the game.

Behrooz_C
06-20-2010, 09:59 PM
Kaka's sending off was ridiculous. The ref didn't even see the incident.

Plus, Brazil 2nd goal was handball, twice. It's a dodgy ref who asks a player whether he handballed it!

Sly
06-20-2010, 09:59 PM
Very very bad game by CIV!!! No sportsmanship. No fair play. First they send Elano out by dirty playing, afew others (including Robinho and Fabiano) were lucky not to end up like Elano. Then that ugly act which sent Kaka out.

If you lost, just accept it damn it!! Fifa should do something about these kind of behaviours but specially about these kind of referees. He was just awful.

Kaka is wrongfully out for the next game. I just hope Elano is ok and can come back.

Kaka's hand didn't even touch the guy's face and bloody Ref. could only see their back. Looking at the video of indecent in slow motion I wonder what CIV fans will think about it. I guess unsportsmanship conduct does not count if you are a true fan of the team.

Yeah well its not like the brazilians dont know what acting on a world stage is, remember the disgracefull Rivaldo grabbing his face and going down at the corner after a player kicked the ball back at him and hit his knee or something, atleast this time it was closer to the face, and players seem to do this recently anyway, its like this with pretty much every red card like this, player grabs to face whereever he gets hit.

The ref was pretty disgracefull though, on both cases, Kaka and the allowing the second goal to count, and there had been more cases in wich there were really odd decisions or small mistakes.

PJ
06-21-2010, 12:29 AM
That's why I have been saying they have to start doing video replays. There is the technology, they might as well use it. They said the fourth ref can help the ref, they might as well have the fourth ref sit next to the tv and watch. It is really not that hard and it doesn't slow the flow of the game at all.
The strangest thing was that the ref was chatting with fabiano saying it hit his hand. That was really strange.

Clearly, their team was shattered after the second goal. It was only 1-0 till the 52nd minute. I saw the 1-0 score and went upstairs to change and get ready to go to work. When I came back it was 4-0.
Apparently the goals came in 2 batches of 3 in the second half.

Yeah, for all intents and purposes CIV is out. I don't think they can score that many goals. Unless Brazil goes Medieaval and Portugal's ass and beats them with a really high goal margin, which is not out of the realm of possibilities, but highly unlikely. :(
