View Full Version : Formula 1 Grand Prix of Monaco
Motori 05-21-2009, 06:29 PM If you have been keeping track of the past 5 races of the 09 season every winner has done it from the pole. Will Button clinch his 5th victory of the season on Sunday?
Well very hard to predict because Monaco is such a game changer circuit, wonders have happened in the past and this time Sunday sure will not be any different.
IIRC Trulli got his first F1 win in Monaco and he is one expert qualifier specially in a light fueled F1 car.
Rumors have it that Hamilton and Sutil already have undisclosed improvements on their cars which will be reviled at the last moment. If true the Hamilton can show the type of a contender he is.
Rossberg was the fastest during practice I so he can’t not be dismissed from getting a shot at the win or finish on top of one of those steps on the podium.
Barechello still vague at the finish in Spain saying “I could’ve/should’ve won there, damn Ross Brawn” LOL. Depending on fuel and tire strategy he is also an avid contender for the podium.
I’m still waiting to see what finally is going to emerge from Ferrari stable to take back the prestige and the fame, but I’m willing to bet that Massa will be among the top 6, while Kimi after a DNF going back to his yacht, eating ice cream and getting drunk.
Wonder of the race might still come from Vettel. GO Sabi…
Here is the timetable: (all times USET, -5 GMT)
Saturday May 23 …..03:00-04:40 AM Practice II
Saturday May 23……08:00-09:30 AM Qualifying
Sunday May 24…….08:00 AM Formula1 Grand Prix of Monaco
Wish them an exciting and safe race.
I will let you about my prediction at the end of P2.

LOOOL. Well said motori jan. We all remember kimi drunk in Mont Carlo. You remember this, while the race was stil on??:

Behrooz_C 05-22-2009, 01:57 PM Red Bull will come with their new diffuser installed in Monaco which will improve performance, specially needed in a circuit like Monaco. Just goes to show even further how well they have done so far without it while Brawn have had theirs all season.
As ever this race is very hard to predict. All the usual calculations go out the window here. I predict Lewis Hamilton to win or at least finish on podium.

Thanx for posting the clip Marlon jAn,
No I was not aware of this video but I remember the pix depicting Kimi in bar with a bottle in his hand and blood red face.
You need to send multiple emails to your buddies in Ferrari expressing your indignation about their performance so far. WHAT DID HAPPEN TO Ferrari?

Behrouz jAn,
I read about the Double Decker Diffuser for Red Bull which might help Vettel grab the crown again.
See!! I told you Hamilton still is the poster boy in UK. I personally think it will be good for UK if Jensen clinches the victory again specially with WDC going to the driver with most wins rule.
Motori 05-24-2009, 12:08 AM WOW!! Finally genie took something out of the bottle for Ferrari and both drivers made it to Q1.
Jensen sitting on the pole but Kimi sitting starting right by him with a KERS, the first turn will be crucial for Button making sure Kimi is not going to pass him if he does (which I think he will) it will be impossible to take the position back in track like Monaco, unless Ferrari team does something stupid in the pits and mess every thing up. Here is what Kimi said about starting strategy:
I’m only interested in winning, so I have nothing really to lose. OK, the team needs points but in the end they are happier with a win than just some points. We’re not really in the championship.
Kimi Raikkonen
So he has nothing to loose and will do every thing to take the lead going through turn1.
The possibilites are in Button's mind already:
The first lap of the race is always exciting for us all. If there is a car that can overtake us it will for sure be a car with KERS. There are a couple of places on the circuit where there is always that possibility.
Jenson Button
Massa could have a better position if he hadn't lost his nose During Q1 I think that indecent rattled him a bid and made him more cautious.
I told you Sutil is up to something he qualified ahead of 2 factory team Toyota and BMW. Fisi did good to maade it to Q2 for 13th.
Vettel also could do better if Nakajima didn't act so unprofessional.
Motori 05-24-2009, 10:34 PM Brawn GP 1 & 2 again, congrats to Jensen Button for the fifth win of the season the boy seems to be unstoppable.
I was surprised to see Kimi standing upright on the podium. :D:D
Force India both did very well finishing in front of the McLarens.
We have got to wait for 2 weeks for Formula 1 Grand Prix of Dunar Kebab..:D
Behrooz_C 05-25-2009, 11:02 AM Not the most exciting race in history but very impressive indeed how the Brawns are so totally dominant. Best results for teh Ferraris this season by the way.
The Brawns look bare, they clearly need sponsorship. If they continue like this, companies will be falling over themselves to have their name on the cars.
On a side note, every time I watch the Monaco GP I spemd more time admiring the scenary, the shops, hotels, boats on the docks etc. It really is the place for the super wealthy. I hope to one day dock my boat on there :)

Agreed Behrouz jAn,
I didn't think it was so exciting either. Monaco always need to have likes of Schummy and Montoya to jazz up the excitement.
Brawns have the "Virgin" as main sponsor, I guess Virgin represents the air line in UK. No?? Also their pure white pain work makes the cars look so lame. McLarens have the best in that regard.
Once if you dock your boat in Monaco harbor don't for get to invite Geri Halliwell for some quality and mature sleep over. ;)
Behrooz_C 05-25-2009, 06:39 PM Rasoul jaan, I don't have a boat :( but if I do one day I will throw a big party and make sure to invite my friends from here yourself included. I will even invite Gerry Halliwell for you :) but if you are that wealthy and living off Monaco then the choices in ladies are far better than Gerry Halliwell at her best. I am only imagining of course ;)
Richard Branson has provided limited financial support to the Brawns, which is why his Virgin logo only occupies a small part of the car. If he pays significantly more he can have Virgin in big letters covering the entire side or front of the car.
Here Virgin is not only the airline but also the guy owns most of the trains, and a record company. He also has his own cable TV and provides digital TV, internet broadband, and telephone. I used to be a cable customer. Branson has his fingers in a lot of other ventures too.
Motori 05-25-2009, 06:58 PM OK!!
Then we'll invite Max Mosley's daughter for an orgie.:D:D:D

Yeh and did you see the look in Jensons face? seeing that red suite now on the podium, made Jensen pie his pants abit. Now he knows Ferrari is breathing them right in the neck.
Force India both did very well finishing in front of the McLarens.
