View Full Version : So, does TM have a coach or what?!
Bi-Honar 04-03-2009, 01:10 AM I heard Clemente has accepted the job conditional on getting a huge villa in Chaloos! But apparently he doesn't even want to travel to Tehran and TM would have to train with him on the beach! Apparently, the IFF has sent him a request asking him to specify the exact location of the beach, but it's unlikey that Iran's postal service will get the letter to him in time for the 2014 WC! :piss:
So what's the deal, is Ghotbi coming to Iran or has he asked for one of those bulletproof cars that the Pope rides in?! :antenna:
Kaesra 04-03-2009, 01:16 AM They said a couple of days, so I guess we'll be waiting for a while and in the end they'll forget why daei got fired and they'll rehire him. Its called moving on, IFF style.
I think by the time they hire a coach qual games are over. So, I would say Rottemuller is the coach.:omfg:
Shahin 04-03-2009, 01:57 AM It does not seem like it !!!! It is so sad that we are lossing the time and will probably hire MK at the end !!!
Also Toofan !!! Does anyone has his contact info??
Behrooz_C 04-03-2009, 09:25 AM The answer to this question is a resounding yes.
TM has about 70 million coaches :)

LOL.
Today the league started again and not well for Kohan but very good for GN.
Words that are buzzing about are that Ghotbi is out and they are looking for IPL coaches; an experienced coach with a young one. Other news has it that Yavari is the coach.
So...still no definite answer.
Oh man!!!!! From their actions, in the end I'm affraid you would have to wish to have coaches like Ghotbi or Mayeli as TM's head coach!
I mean for the F****'s sakes, in this crucial times we need a reliable coach. Who the F*** is yavari?!!!
Oh man... a coach like Denizli is becoming a dream to me and that's when things are just not right.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mahmoud_Yavari
Kazem jan, I know who the guy is. But I mean who is he to be even consdiered as an option? What are his merits? I mean he coached TM when I was still living in Iran!! But suddenly out of the blue his name is circulating in the rumors?
I get so frustrated at IFF's decisions!
Shahin 04-06-2009, 04:10 AM Ir seems lie Qutbi has been choosen as our next coach. I think he is taking a huge risk which can really damage his reputation.
Kaesra 04-06-2009, 03:56 PM It is said by DUTCH media that Ghotbi asked René Eijer, Roda JC's women's team trainer, to join him as his assistent for the Iranian TM. They seem know each other from their period UAE. He said that he is delighted Ghotbi asked him and that it has been a big dream for him to have a chance to go to the WC.
I think Ghotbi is kinda a done deal bc they are letting him pull together a staff.
To be honest a lot of dutch coaches would be interested, the dutch are like this, they are in for a adventure. I think a eredivisie standard coach would accept a manager position too. Look at haan and e.koeman going to Albania and Hungry and they have even more trainers going to even smaller countries. Anyway I think ghotbi is the best coach for the moment, I hope he gets the job.
I hope it is not Yavari. He didn't do a good job the last time he was in charge, or at least I don't have any good memories from that.
If I was in charge I would have selected a foreign coach. But given the IFF's history, I would be happy if they pick Qotbi quickly and get him the support he needs to prepare for the next game.
Bi-Honar 04-06-2009, 04:43 PM What's all this about MK being the coach then?!
Behrou jan, don't you remember last year how they picked Daie?
I think it is the same story now. You won't know who is the coach until you see him on the bench in the next match.
Behrooz_C 04-06-2009, 05:11 PM It seems to be official. MK i sthe new head coach.
I would be really upset about this if I cared anymore. But the last few years have made me really apathetic about team melli. It's sad but that's life!
On the bright side, MK introduced some young talent to TM, including Mahdavikia, and we beat S.Korea 6-2 during his reign. I doubt he will have an immediate effect this time.
Bi-Honar 04-06-2009, 05:19 PM Unbelieveable. I just don't understand why they keep using people who have already failed at that level. I just hope that MK is able to pull some sort of a miracle, but don't see how he's going to do that.

I feel the same way that you do Behrooz jan. Honestly no good is going to come out of this see you guys in World Cup 2014. With the selection of MK I have given up on this team.
MK is good at spotting young talent that was always one of his strengths. The problem with MK is that he allows his personal beliefs interfer with his coaching. I remember when he was the coach in 1996 he didn't want to start Ali Daei, and he suspended a player(forgot his name) for playing cards.
I guess the IFF figures we are not going to qualify so might as well hire MK. The thing is as Madavakia and Ali Karimi pointed out if we want to qualify we need to hire a good European coach. Look at KSA they hired a European coach and they beat us in Azadi. Honestly I am 99.9% certain we will not qualify but I already accepted that.

Is this officail ??
Shahin 04-07-2009, 02:10 AM http://www.farsnews.com/newstext.php?nn=8801171146
yes. it is official.
Well to be honest, I think beating North Korea and UAE, is not really out of reach, even with Mayeli Kohan. If he doesn't do that, that's a huge failure by his part.
What I'm realy concerned about though is that we are going to stick with him in the WC! Now that could be a real embarrassing WC for us.
Kaesra 04-07-2009, 01:51 PM Damn, I'm not happy with this, We might still make it but I don't think he is our best shot at it and like sly said if we get trough and they let him finish it, then I'll be very disappointed and when I say dissappointed I mean something else :crybaby: I hoped we would kinda break with the bad choice of coaches, I hope it ends before if not after the Wc, they seem to just want to give iranian fans dissappointment after dissappointment :Butkick: and we still keep supporting our team eventough we also kinda don't want to or atleast say we don't want to.
artavile 04-07-2009, 07:25 PM Guys, I said this a few years ago, IMHO Iranian national football was sentenced to a slow death and is being carried out as we speak by IR.:hanged2:
You all remember how people poured into the streets after some major accomplishment, Iran vs. Australia and Iran vs.USA in particular. Someone within the establishment recognized the fact that harmless gathering could potentially turn out into a huge security nightmare for the akhoonds regime.
Football events under current rules of IR, are the only allowable non-governmental public gatherings.
It all began with harmless dancing, flag waving, proud and happy Iranians showing their love for their country, but they knew sooner or later the “focus” of this huge emotionally charged crowed could get out of control and spread like wild fire. :shithitsthefan:
I am not a conspiracy theory guy but I think IR made it a matter of national security policy by their choice of IFF management team to slowly but surely kill TM by discouraging/disappointing people and make them passive on attending (the only remaining legal large gathering in Iran).
Its evident from my conversation with friends and family, most people have lost their passion for TM and don’t even give a damn, who the next coach is. It is all irrelevant now, that means “mission accomplished” for Islamic rats. :Kneelsuckers:

Worlds of wisdom, I agree with everything you said. Football was one of the very few no religous gatherings that you attract millions and millions of people in Iran and would have united them behind a common goal.
I like the smiliy you used but was wondering if we can change the crown with Amameh ;)

Shahin jan, I will raise that question with our technical team in the next "Board Meeting" :couch1:
By the way, isn't ammameh an ugly version of crown anyway? :Oldguy:
p.s., love these smilies....
Bi-Honar 04-08-2009, 03:19 PM LOL @ the Smileys. I'm officially calling Hamid "The Smile Master" from now onw. ;)
Yeah, I noticed the whole fiasco after the Iran-Arustralia game too. The truth of the matter is that pure patriotism and nationalism are in total contradiction with Islamism and I don't think any of us should be surprised to see that as Islamism rises, nationalism has to be suppressed in any which way possible. I think it's sad and the Ir is definitely setting themselves on a crash course with nationalist sentiments - it's not a matter of if, but when IMHO.
