Well our site isn't that old yet ( :) ), but there are some doubts about the name. The poll is for deciding wether the change to name, yes or no.

If you want to keep this name vote for it and state a good abreviation bc TIF is weak IMO.

Guys, I don't think you should focus so much on names with Football in it. The Football forum is only one of 6 or 7 forums so far and many more to come, so IMHO we should not be limiting the reach of the name in any way. The Iranian thing in there is already pretty limiting, but at least it's descriptive of the people you're going to find here (i.e. if you don't like Iranians, this ain't the forum for you!). Just my 2 cents.

LMAO. That's a good one actually. I really liked your suggestion with the Borobia as well Pedram jaan. The only thing is that borobia by itself was taken and mahaleh could be mispelled mahaleyebrobia, mahalleyebrobia, mahalleborobia, etc. Is there anything else you can sub in there for Mahaleh with the same meaning? I coudln't come up with anything, but then again I'm not exactly the go-to-guy for Farsi ;)

A little freaky story. As we're trying to come up with the name here, I opened my Facebook today and have a ton of messages and friends requests from my old friends in Iran. Anyway, relation to this thread is that we all lived in Kooye Nevisandegan (between Gisha and Sharara). It was pretty much the news hub of Iran, even after the revolution and with so many editors, journalists, poets, etc. living there, nothing happened in Iran before or after the revolution without the collective knowing about it - at least that was the case when we left back in '86. Of course, everyone sold their units after that and it became a pretty mixed crowd. So, where am I going with this? Nowehre really, I just thought the name is pretty cool for a discussion forum. I think its too descriptive and therefore may not seem very attractive to many people that do not associate with nevisandegan. If I came across the site, I would not have thought to check that site for sports, jokes, political related stuff and music, for example.

Not to mention its too loooong.

I think persian mytholigical names are good suggestions too. Mythilogical Beasts/Heroes. It would make the Logo creating easier also.

And then there are the double plays with the word "kaman". For example GhalamKaman could mean people without a pen (i.e. writing on the computer) or those whose writing is the arch. It is actually quite simple. Once something clicks everything falls into place. I think we should reserve the name before it is taken. everyone could be reading this, so you never know.

Oh yeah Ali jaan, if it says it's for sale, it's not readily available. The owner would be setting the price at that point and people don't usually part with their domains for less than a few hundred bucks. If it says it's available, then it's good to go (i.e. much less expensive to register).
