Ladies and Gents,

We've had the same registration issue come up half a dozen time now. When you are inviting people, PLEASE let them know that they are supposed to provide a valid e-mail address in the registration process (usually self-explanatory, but apparently not always). The reason for this is that the system automatically sends them a confimation e-mail (to this address) and until they click on the link in the e-mail, the account is not fully activated and they can not post on the forum.

Of course, if we don't have a correct e-mail address for them, we can not even contact them!!! So, something very simple, becomes a complicated issue. Deerouz is still stuck in the cue with this problem so if one of you or all of you can be kind enough to let him know what the situation is, at least he won't be upset at us. If he has not provided the correct e-mail address, please let the Admin team (PJ, Kaesra, or myself) know so that we can delete his username and he can re-register with a valid e-mail address (UPDATE: I have already done this). If you know of anyone else stuck in the cue as well, please let us know.

ADMIN TEAM
Could we change the message that unconfirmed members are receiving from reading "banned: to something along the lines of "please click on the link in the confirmation e-mail that was sent to you at the address you used during the regstration process". That way, they know what the issue is and don't need to contact us or get upset thinking they are banned.

RASPUTIN!!!
We've had several users registering from Russia in the past few days, all with very strange usernames and the .ru domain extension. None of them have posted any messages or contacted us in any way. For this reason, we are left to believe these are registrations by BOTS (automatic programs) that will be spamming the board later on. As such, we may have to delete these users without further notice. If this has been an oversight on our part, or if you have any other information on this matter, please let any of the Mods (Artaville, Behrooz_c, or Raminio05) or the Admin team know as soon as possible.

Thank you all for making this site so wonderful and if there's anything that you can do or we can do to make it better, please don't hesitate to ask.

We dont have to delete them we can by-pass the email registration process manually and change them from awaiting confirmation to registered users. After that we can ask them for a real Email-address and just send them an email code manually to confirm if that email is real or not.

The russians are fake or they live really really far away, I checked the IP's and it directs to Siberia, in no mans land actually, above Mongolia. Btw you havent deleted them yet.

I dont know why they get a mesage of being banned thats not so nice, bt I dont know if we can change it either.

Kasra jan, we don't want to create too much work for ourselves and at the same time the person who registers should be able to post right away after registration. So, we would have to keep some verification method. I will look into this tonight.

Yeah, I looked into the "banned" message too and couldn't find anything. Not sure why it says that and it's definitely very discouraging for someone before they've posted anything to be "banned" ;)

Well you are right pedram we might be able to do things like that now, but in the future that would be tiresome.I tried an application before on Registration, but It had bugs, there was also another called Vmail but people seemed to have problems on other sites with that, there are a lot of ways for (bot)verification, asking random Q's , Image verifications, sending the code to the email before registrating etc etc. Anyway good luck with finding something.

We laready have image verification though. I don't know how the bots would be bypassing that.
