Alrighty, so it seems as if I'm going to have to take this forums virginity (unofficially because bi-honars thread doesn't count), by posting its first thread.
Post/discuss anything related to new discoveries in physics or quantum mechanics here.
Let me start us off:
The theory of non-locality (teleportation):

cool stuff, no?
Does string theory count? I saw a documentary a while ago about string theory. The beautiful universe or something it was called.

String theroy is the ultimate theory in Quantum physics. Kaz, the documentary you are talking about is called "eligant universe" by Brian Green. Its a fantastic program (DVD or book) to watch. You can get it from your local library.
Once you watch and understand eligant universe then you are ready to watch String theory. Basic and general information about ST is fairly easy to inderstand, however when it comes to how many potential dimentions might be out there based on this theory and mathematical modeling, then it becomes very complex to even understand the concept. They have proven that there are 11, yes 11 dimensions based on ST. I highly recomend watching both DVD's it really is facinating.
Thanks Ramin jan for bringing this subject. Next to bugs, I love watching and learning about space in general and quantum physics in particular. :antenna:
