View Full Version : Aravane Rezai advances to the fourth round of French Open
Let's see if this year she can do better than the years past. She won her third round match today:
Aravane Rezai, def. Michelle Larcher De Brito, , 7-6 (7-3), 6-2
Kaesra 05-29-2009, 10:57 PM The dutch sport journal showed her apponant and her irritating scream ;Michelle Larcher De Brito that is. And after the game she also didnt want shake hands with Rezai.
Btw the dutch called rezai french, I was kinda annoyed by that, I dont like it when they call Ando armenian either, eventhough that should be less annoying. The call the other old/ex-tenisser with the stache and tricks also french, they always prefer the other nationality they have over Iranian, I kinda get annoyed by that eventhough it is granted at times, I just dont like it.
raminio05 05-29-2009, 11:45 PM Kaesra jaan she is French. If she was representing Iran on the international level she would be wearing long pants, a long loose shirt, and a roosari.
Kaesra 05-29-2009, 11:55 PM LoooL well I know and so is the other guy I mentioned, but I just get annoyed like others should mention/know she is iranian, its something that just annoys me doesnt need to reasonable. :D

Kasra jan, Ando has Iranian nationality and is representing Iran by being a member of TM. But Aravan has French nationality (maybe dual iran/french) and representing France in all competitions. So, there is a bit of a difference. While you have every reason to be upset if they refer to Ando as Armenian, there is no reason to be upset if they call Aravan French.
Kaesra 05-30-2009, 04:11 AM Yeah I looked it up and she wasnt even born in Iran although her both parents are iranian, but anyway like I said I just would have like it, I like my fellow Iranians having succes and like it when other people can here about it too, if its under a different nationality it just different for me. Same thing with Dejagah Im happy for the choice he made for Germany, but he isnt german and to some degree aravane aint french either. I just noticed if someone has dual nationalities, iranian doesnt get favoured, atleast not in dutch media and atleast not when something good happens. Same thing with me really, If I would do something good I would be dutch and if did something bad I'd be foreign/iranian its just how they handle things, conciously or sub-conciously. Not that iranians misbehave in Holland, but I have seen this with other foreign nationalities they love them and call them their own when all is well, like in sports like football, track etc but if something goes wrong they say marrocan did this, black man did this etc etc.
I like the spanish commentators who go on and on about Shojaei and Nekou being Iranian (different story bc they dont have dual nationalities but still) and I love it, they even overdo it by doing it every match and emphisizing it alot but I dont mind.
I dont really need to mind them calling aravane french bc she grew up there and probably sees herself as being french also, atleast partially, I would have just liked it if they would have mentioned it nothing more, something they hardly ever do and everytime I have read anything dutch about Ando, he was mentioned as being armenian.

I know what you mean bro. Actually, in case of Aravane she is more Iranian than one might think, I believe her story came out a few years ago. Even though Aravane was born and grew up in France, when she became a pro she wanted to participate with her Iranian citizenship but then she had to wear unorthodox dresses. And she said heck with it.
raminio05 05-30-2009, 06:21 AM And here she is in AN new election add.......

Oh, my!! I didn't know Aravane had so much respect for AN. I wonder now, why she doesn't go back to Iran?
Thanks for the video Ramin jan.
Anyways, she lost today to the number 1 seed Dinara Safin.

No problem Pedram jaan
it might be taken out of context, but its hard to see how.
The thing is, 2-3 years ago i didn't hate AN as much as i do now. I liked how he was "standing up" to the west, and i think that others felt/feel the same way about him. But that was before the long list of embarrassing/idiotic/childish comments, interviews, and ideas. It was before he took the iranian economy even lower than it was. It was before he took a massive dump on our Country and our reputation around the world.
I think she's confused, but I don't blame her, and i will keep cheering her on.
Too bad about the loss.

Yeah, I suppose it could be from 2-3 years ago.

This is yet another clear case of ANo doost daashtano AN shodan! ;)
Ramin jaan, I actually wasn't too familiar with Iranian politics when AN was elected and supported his stand and some of the things he was saying. But just like you, I came to realize he is a real nut case, the ultimate "oghdei" suffering from little-man syndrome, a power-hungry baboon, a real retard, another example of how AN floats to the top and how AN smells more the more one presses it. He is an embaressment to Iran, Iranian people and mankind in general.
I can only hope that he gets re-elected, because if there's one person who's stupid and stubborn enough to bring the IR down, it is him. That's the only reason anyone should vote for him, otherwise anyone who still supports him and what he stands for, after all that he has said and done is either mentaly handicapped or dillusional just like AN himself. He represents one of the is the ugly faces of mankind, hatred, biggotry, enslavement, etc.
He is the ultimate idol worshipper, with pictures of Khomeini hanging in his room and talking about Emam Zaman bringing justic to the world - a tru act of worshipping someone other than God. People like him, fooling people for their personal gains in the name of God, represent the lowest of the low, the true AN of mankind.
Sorry, just a little rant and rave session. Every time I watch him, this happens lately! ;)
